My laptop curser gets slower and slower til it stops, and then it suddenly will go crazy and inspidon everything, then die again. You can inspirln the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I tried to do a diagnostic boot as Admiral commented above, but it didn’t work? You’ve already tried the obvious remedy of re-installing the driver and nothing else comes to my mind.
My touchpad has worked fine for a couple years, and I have always used a cooling fan pad device under my laptop to prevent overheating. How satisfied are you with this response? My laptop is under warrenty as well, so I can return it if needed, but I would like to find out what is wrong.

Edited by The Admiral, 09 November – To fix the issue, you may check this link: I know nothing about how this would affect the touchpad. Here’s the link for the download If for some reason dell will not repair it the link below seems to offer the best solution, if you are not comfortable doing the repair yourself I would only trust a person that you know to be competent to make the repair.
Nothing fixed the problem.
Through trial and error I discovered something very strange: Anyway, i clicked on the link you provided and it says: Alps touchpads insipron just plain junk.
