Dave is a very helpful guy. I had an M-Audio interface for audio, it was barely better When he worked in the past, you appreciate the small size for a fairly reasonable price. This effectivly makes this device a brick for me now. So perhaps it is a HW thing-but,jeezz, it has no movable parts except for the button. Exprience with, you will do again this choice? The last time it happened in February I ended up having to ‘roll back ‘ my PC a few days!! Thanks a lot, Paul.

Using 2 dvices but only one ata time, which is what I need to do.
Installing the drivers under Windows XP was a very big pain. I think I read somewhere that drivers for this device are not up to scratch.

When I very first pugged in the device last year it automatically prompted me about the drivers and that the MidiSport was connected. If that doesn’t work then it’s a paper weight! Anyone want a MidiSport 2×2?
I bought mine about 4 yrs back and it worked great for about a year. I have two laptops one is a test box and the other is a Production box. Let me know if you have more questions!
I finally downloaded the driver zip file from the Midiman site to a floppy, then read the installation instructions. Firstly, I need to know whether I am on XP bit or 64?

It took me a day and a half to find this bizarre workaround I just stumbled upon this temporary solution but clearly it is not ideal. When you’re working with multi-ple MIDI ports you have to make sure your ins and outs are set properly. M-Audio was very late to the Windows 7 party and they made a lot of enemies.
It’s one of the worst driver installs I have ever seen.
Miles Davis also said a very similar thing. Yes, it does that, but if you just keep telling it to install it, it eventually midissport.

The last time I made that mistake I ended up inadvertently downloading a Google toolbar and a stupid free trial of an anti virus software, both of which I did not want. I used to have an old peavey 4X4 that worked with a toggle switch. I use the regular Midisport 2×2 for recording in the practice space.
